About Mike

Mike Photobooth Before entering the web world, Mike (Wazowski!) worked his way into students’ nightmares as a teacher of physics and chemistry. He is now associate director for Furman’s Center for Teaching and Learning where he works with faculty in the areas of emerging learning technologies and course and assignment design. He also teaches. This fall it’s a First Year Seminar about Mars called Shoulders of Giants. Mike graduated from Furman University with a B.S. in Chemistry and later completed his M.A.Ed. in Science Education at Wake Forest University.  He’s currently working on a second masters degree in Geographic Information Systems.  He loves hanging out with his wife and two daughters and likes trail running (while listening to This American Life or RadioLab podcasts), camping, coaching his daughter’s basketball team, and discovering new music.
